Superb!
Posted : 17 years, 2 months ago on 7 February 2007 11:29 (A review of Introduction to C++ for Financial Engineers: An Object-oriented Approach (The Wiley Finance Series))I recently ordered this book and really enjoyed it. It covers an area I am extremely interested in learning: object-oriented design in a c++ framework. No more; no less. It serves it purpose well and I have been satisfied with my purchase.

Good book if you can get past the author
Posted : 17 years, 6 months ago on 2 November 2006 04:30 (A review of Fooled by Randomness: The Hidden Role of Chance in Life and in the Markets)I think a lot of people may not like this books because of the author's tone: it is like a know-it-all grandparent talking down to a child. The author's air of superiority can be tough to get through.
However, the underlying ideas, logic, author's experience presented the book was quite good. The author's approach is a very modern approach to the markets and risk.

From Student of Author
Posted : 17 years, 6 months ago on 2 November 2006 04:26 (A review of Advanced Derivatives Pricing and Risk Management: Theory, Tools, and Hands-On Programming Applications (Academic Press Advanced Finance))I am a student of Dr. Campolieti so take my review as it is. But I really like this book as it breaks down the theory and application well.
Basically, the first half is the theory while the second half is implementations using Excel VBA. Often, books go into much theory with lots of equations but very little guidance as to their implementation.
I greatly enjoyed the balance in this book.
Also note that this is not for a beginner of Financial Mathematics.
